Course Descriptions 

Health Explorations is a course for 8th grade students. It introduces students to a variety of helping professions in health care. Course content provides students with knowledge regarding common skills, education and training, and job requirements in health fields.

Family Wellness is a half-credit course designed for high school students interested in health issues that impact individuals, families, and communities. Students will explore family health throughout the stages of the lifespan.

Foundations of Health Science is a required one-credit course that introduces students to a wide range of health careers. Integrated academics combined with health care knowledge and skills provide the framework for a strong health care delivery system in the twenty-first century. This course is the prerequisite for other high school health science courses.

Diagnostic Services is a one credit course designed to introduce students to diagnostic heath care careers including but not limited to, electrocardiograph technician, medical laboratory technologist, radiography technician, pathologist, and cardiovascular technician.
